Rob Stein wrote an interesting article in The Washington Post about how research on dogs shows that they make decisions to imitate behavior based on the specific circumstances in which the action takes place.
Allison Titcomb's paper, "Snake Avoidance Training with Dogs: Making Informed Decisions", explains why snake avoidance training is not suitable for every dog. It is to be published in the July Sonoran Herpetolgist, the newsletter-journal of the Tucson Herpetological Society.
